Hi, my name is Becky and I have worked in the fashion industry for many years working on hair and makeup so I have a lot of experience with hair dryers and hairstyles. I’m going to help you find the best hair dryer.
How your hair looks is a big part about fashion as it can make or break the look you’re trying to achieve. It’s often difficult to get the style you want without a good hair dryer. The main problem is that there are just so many brands out there in the marketplace that it can be hard to find one that works for you. I designed this website to make it easier for you to find the beat hairdryer for your needs. I want you to have the best hair possible and a good hair dryer helps you achieve that.
There are several things you need to look for when trying to find a good hair dryer. You don’t want to buy a hair dryer that’s too cheap as this just won’t get the job done or will break down quickly. A ceramic dryer for example, adds shine and will protect your hair from frizz and heat damage. Hair dryers that use iconic technology use ions to dry the hair and these dryers work quite well. You also want a dryer with about 1300-1875 watts of power as this is perfect for most home uses. If you have thinner hair or just want to dry a small portion of your hair you want to remember to use low settings. You also have to pay attention to hair dryer attachments too.
I review all the big brands such as Elchim, Revlon, BaByliss, Solano and more so you can find the best hair dryer for your hair. I cover the features and other information you need to know about hair dryers. Two models I recommend include, the Amika Obliphica Mini Ionic Dryer Styler and the CHI Touch Screen Hair Dryer but there are other models you can buy too that work equally as well.
I hop my website helps you find the best hair dryer for your needs. I wish you happy styling and great looking hair!
The Difference Between Ionic, Ceramic, and Tourmaline Hair Dryers
July 19, 2016
Shopping for a blow dryer can be overwhelming, especially when you’re faced with the huge selection that most stores offer. Product packaging using buzzwords like ‘sleek’, ‘anti-frizz’, and fast drying. They may sound appealing, but to find the best dryer you must look past those words and look for the words ‘ceramic’, ‘ionic’, and ‘tourmaline’. These words describe the features of a dryer that will actually help your hair. So what do these words mean and why they are beneficial in a blow dryer? Below is a brief overview of each type.
Usually made from clay, ceramic is a non-metallic solid. With ceramic heated blow dryers, the heating coils are made of ceramic rather than copper. Ceramic heats both evenly and quickly.
What’s the benefit of using ceramic?
The infrared heat generated from ceramic hair dryers is actually able to safely penetrate the hair without damaging or burning the outer part of the hair shaft. Also, because ceramic evenly heats up, it won’t burn parts of your hair or cause damage.
Ions can either be positively or negatively charged. With ionic hair dryers, water molecules are broken up by negative ions into smaller drops. These small drops evaporate from the outer layer of hair more quickly. This process also helps your hair to retain moisture by sealing the hair’s cuticles.
What’s the benefit of using ionic?
Since the water is broken down by the negative ions into smaller droplets, the water evaporates quickly and reduces the amount of damage and heat to the hair. Due to the negative ions, the cuticles remain flat. This eliminates frizz and makes the hair feel and look healthy.
The mineral, tourmaline, only generates negative ions when it is heated. As mentioned above, negative ions are amazing for your hair. You’ll either find tourmaline in a hair dryer in the form of a coating inside the dryer or whole parts made of the mineral.
What’s the benefit of using tourmaline?
Tourmaline is incredibly effective at producing negative ions. This means your hair will dry extremely fast and your hair will be left shiny and healthy looking. Since tourmaline is a costly mineral, these hair dryers will cost a bit more than an average ionic or ceramic dryer.
Bottom line – Each of these features are necessary when maintaining the health of your hair while using heating tools. At least consider buying a ceramic dryer to provide you with the most basic protection against heat damage. A higher quality hair dryer with ceramic and either ionic or tourmaline is worth splurging on. The results will amaze you!
Revlon RV544PKF Tourmaline Ionic Ceramic Dryer Review
July 19, 2016
I don’t care who you are, when you have the right hair dryer, you are going to have a great hair day. I took a lot of time researching what type of dryer I wanted before I just decided to spend a lot of money for something that may not work for me. I stopped and searched to see what type of features would be good for me. I needed something that wasn’t overly expensive, yet would do the job that I needed it to, such as dry my long and thick hair without turning me into a huge staticy frizz ball.
I began reading about the Revlon RV544PKF Tourmaline Ionic Ceramic Dryer and I decided to try it. I am certainly glad that I did. It advertised that it is great for those with all types of hair, but have shorter drying times. I thought about it and made my choice. I bought it, and I am still using it. It comes with a diffuser and to this day, I still can’t believe just how shiny and sleek my hair is, and that is without using any types of sprays, creams, or shine creating things to get the results. When it gets compared to my previous hair dryer, I will say that Revlon is the best.
This model comes with only 2 drying speeds as well as a concentrator, cool shot button and a diffuser. Even though it only has 2 drying speeds, it is very dependable, and the attachments fit the barrel perfectly. I haven’t had any issue with the attachments falling off. The one thing about the diffuser, is that it is a bit bulky to be put in an overnight bag, but having a larger diffuser, means that you will get a gentle spread of heat which is great for managing frizz and having healthy hair. Let’s talk about the pro’s and con’s.
- The price, it is only around $25
- Comes with Ionic heat
- Comes with diffuser and concentrator
- It can be a bit noisy
If you are wanting more bang for your buck, then you need the Revlon RV544PKF Tourmaline Ionic Ceramic Dryer. It is budget priced, but will give you the professional dry that you want. It is perfect for all hair types, has amazing heat, and will create shine unlike any other model.
Is The BaByliss PRO Nano Titanium Right For Your Hair

Is The BaByliss PRO Nano Titanium Right For Your Hair
When it comes to the best available flat irons, the Nano Titanium flat iron definitely ranks one of the best for the offered price range. It’s got a slim design and titanium plates, which are extremely smooth and can provide ideal straightening even to hair that’s very coarse, curly and frizzy.
Hair, even when the flat iron is extremely hot, won’t become fried. Rather, it’ll seal in the hair’s moisture and natural oils that ensure it stays healthy and shiny. And, since the plates don’t pull at the hair, you’ll experience less static and fly-aways.
What Are The Features Of The BaByliss PRO Nano Titanium Flat Iron
This flat iron comes in an array of choices that you can pick from. Each selection cost about the same, and features one-inch plates. This includes the combo model. It’s got a removable casing that lets you using a flat iron then curling wand.
The temperature dials extends to 450, which means you get the styled hair you want in a matter of minutes. It weighs less than two pounds, which means you won’t feel tired as you run it through your hair.
What Are The Good Aspects Of The BaByliss Pro
One of the great things about this model is that it’s both a flat iron and curling wand, but it can also be used as a crimper and curling iron. This can provide you with perfect waves and curls along with straightened, shaped hair.
If you suffer with coarse or curly hair, and desire to have a different texture, you just need the flair iron, then using the same model curl it. It’s simple to use and hold. Best of all, its slim design makes it ideal to tame those strays and flyaways.
The model’s titanium plates are extremely smooth and are scratch-resistant. They’re also placed in a cushioned area, which ensures that it’ll clamp down on hair without putting too much pressure on it.
What Are The Bad Aspects Of The BaByliss Pro
If you’ve got fine hair, you may need something else entirely. The flat iron’s plates are difficult to pressure together completely. This is why it’s geared more toward women who have very thick or coarse hair.
Another issue is that the temperature settings do not go low enough to give fine hair users silky, straight hair. And, with fine hair, it’s possible to fry the hair, damaging it.
What’s The Overall Verdict On The Product
When it comes to this flat iron, it’s not good for fine hair – those who have curly, fine hair or even straight hair. Rather, it’s made to help people who have curly, thick hair. The flat iron was created to control the un-tamest hair out there. Therefore, if you need a product that just smooths out the little bumps in your hair, then you don’t want this. But, if you have thick, coarse hair that could use some taming, the this superior-quality, high heat flat iron is just what you’re looking for.

Conair Infiniti Pro Flat Iron Review

What You Can Expect From This Particular Hair Straightener
If you’re looking for a flat iron that can fight frizzy hair and make it shiny and healthy while it straightens, then you need the Tourmaline-infused ceramic plates of the Conair Professional Tourmaline Ceramic Flat Iron Infiniti Pro.
Previous models used metal plates, which meant that getting straight hair was next to impossible. The plates would cause static and send smaller hairs flying away. They also caused the hair to fry, leading to reduce the amount of moisture in the shaft. However, Tourmaline seals that shaft so that moisture and nutrients are maintained. Read our Conair Infiniti Pro Flat Iron review:
What Are The Features Seen With Conair’s Infiniti Pro
This model is found in three sizes:
- 1 –inch and in royal blue color
- 5-inch and in a pink color
- 2-inches and in black color
It comes with a range of temperature settings, going up to 446 degrees Fahrenheit, which you can adjust using the + and – button on the side of the unit and LED readout.
The unit’s heater is made out of ceramic, which evenly conducts heat to the ceramic plates and tourmaline, which means there’s no possibility of bad styling or hot spots. If this flat iron isn’t for you – check out the best hair straighteners.
What Are The Positive Aspects Behind This Model
Since there are a number of sizes, you’re bound to find one that works for your particular hair type. It was created to take no more than 20 seconds to heat up, which reduces the time you need to spend getting ready for your day. The process for heat selection is rather simple, and you can quickly find a setting that’s best for your hair.
While many models claim they have ceramic plates, most of theirs consist of a metal plate with a coated layer of ceramic. However, the Infiniti Pro actually comes with ceramic plates that generate heat and keeps the smoothness even after you’ve used it a hundred times. And, with various sizes available, you can produce a number of styles besides straight hair.
What Are The Negative Aspects Behind This Mode
If you’ve got fine hair, you may discover that the hair straightener’s heat setting are too much for you. You’ll also need to keep the unit closed to ensure it’s properly clamped down, which is necessary to get the straight hair you’re looking for.
What Does It All Mean?
When it comes to solid flat iron choices, this is, by far, one of the best because it comes with ceramic plates and heater. It’s got a two-year warranty on maintenance and parts, which means you don’t risk much to try it out. It can be used to straighten hair, along with flipping it, waving it and curling it. And, since you can easily control the heat and size, nearly all hair types can use it.

Could Your Ponytail Be Causing Your Headaches
December 21, 2015
If you wear your hair in a ponytail and you suffer from frequent headaches, there may be a connection. Surprisingly enough, the way you wear your hair can affect your health. Does this mean that you don’t have the option of tying your hair back to get out of the way? Not exactly.
What connection could there possibly be between your hairstyle and your brain? When you pull your hair back into a ponytail, this sometimes causes tension. You may be putting your hair under stress the entire time it’s tied up. It’s this tension that causes you to feel a headache.
If you have short hair that you tie up into a small ponytail, you probably don’t have this problem. Most people who get headaches from ponytails have hair that’s heavy, long and/or thick. The weight and thickness add more tension to an already tense situation.
How to Stop Your Ponytail Headaches
If you’ve got ponytail headaches, there are a couple of ways you can stop them without giving up on tying back your hair. The best option is to put your hair up into a bun.
Pull the strands of hair back just as if you’re going to tie it into a ponytail. But instead of doing that, wrap it around several times and stick a pin into it to hold it in place. What you’ve got now is a bun that causes no pulling, stretching or tension whatsoever on your scalp. The great thing about this is that you don’t even need any elastic.
Sleeping with a Ponytail
You may also get headaches because you’re sleeping in a ponytail. Although you don’t wear your hair up during the day, tying it up for your night’s sleep can cause the same prolonged tension and give you headaches.
Tying up your hair before you sleep keeps it out of your face and also prevents tangles. If you want to stop doing it this way, there are some other options. One is to opt for a night cap. It may not be attractive or stylish, but who’s going to see you anyway?
You can also braid your hair in loose braids. This is a bit more time-intensive of course, but one of the benefits is that it will give you natural waves and maybe even some curls when you wake up in the morning and undo it.
There’s also detangling spray that you can buy at your nearest beauty supply store. The way most products work, you use it right before bed and it keeps you from waking up in the morning with a giant dreadlock.
Your ponytail could be causing your headaches, so give it a rest for a while and see if they go away. If it turns out to be the cause, try one of the above methods to get it under control.
GHD Classic Styler Review Flat Iron Review
December 21, 2015
You can’t overestimate how important your hair is when it comes to your appearance. It is that one fashion accessory that you were born with and it can affect everything about you, just by how it looks. This is why you should always put in a lot of effort to maintain your hair, and just why travel and bed hair can be a real pain.
When it comes to hair straighteners, I am extremely picky. I bought the GHD Classic Styler and decided that I would try it out. I have super long hair and it is a real pain. Since I got the classic styler I haven’t had any issue with it. I can use it to make my hair very sleek and straight, or I can use it to create twists and curls for new and unique styles.
If you want to have straight hair, simply mist your hair with the thermal protector and then start closest to your roots. What is great, is that it’s very smooth, so there isn’t any snagging on my hair. There are instructions that come with this styler that will show you how to create soft curls, which is basically turning the straightener while you glide from the roots. The GHD Classic Styler is great for multiple uses. The smooth heating plates and the body is lighter and a lot cooler to the touch. What I enjoy is the fact that it heats up quickly and it has universal voltage, so you can plug it in anywhere, and you don’t need a transformer.
Another featured that I have fell in love with is the automatic sleep mode which will turn off the styler if it isn’t used for 30 minutes and there is a protective plate guard that you can use after you have finished using it. This is a great styling tool if you plan to travel or for use at your home. There is only one true issue, it is very easy to be duped and purchase a fake. There are a few ways that you can tell if it is a genuine GHD Classic. This model will state that its made in PRC or Korea, it has domed screws, DVD has a number and back code, comes with 2 booklets, it comes in a matte box which is strong and thick, and there will only be one hole where the cord meets the body.
Let’s cover the pro’s and con’s.
- It is easy to use
- Works as its advertised
- Helpful instructions, with DVD
- Doesn’t destroy your hair like other straighteners
- Perfect for traveling
- It is so popular that people try to sell fake copies of it
Overall the GHD Classic Styler is perfect for those who want a styling tool that will not only straighten, but curl as well. This is a great versatile tool that I am glad that I have in my styling arsenal. The price is a bit steep, but it is worth the investment to have a great tool.

Risks of hair straightening
December 20, 2015
Hair straightening products are awesome and they work wonders for your hair. Unfortunately, like most good things in life, they can also cause damage. There are some risks to your hair’s health when using straighteners and you should be aware of them.
Can Straightening Lead to Hair Loss?
First of all, let’s get a common myth out of the way. No, hair straighteners don’t lead to hair loss. The hair that’s outside of your scalp is actually dead already. The living follicles are inside your scalp. This means that there’s nothing you can do to the outside of your hair that’s going to make it fall out or stop growing.
However, this doesn’t mean that straightening can’t damage it. Straighteners can also make it look unhealthy and lifeless. If your hair is badly damaged, it can break at the scalp and this makes it look like your hair is falling out. That’s why some people who use straightening products see it coming out in the shower.
Heat Damage and Your Hair
In order for a straightener to work, it has to be really hot. Most of them run at anywhere from 200 to 450 degrees. If you have fine hair, you would want to make sure that you use a temperature that is less than the max temp.
Even at the lower temperatures, the heat starts to dry out your hair. It loses all of its moisture, and that is what can lead to hair health problems. If you use these styling products every day, you’re exposing your hair and scalp to more hot, dry heat, and this is what can make it look lusterless.
Tips on How to Protect Your Hair
Because it’s the heat that hurts your hair, take some extra measures to make sure that it’s moisturized. Besides using a heat protectant spray or serum, you will want to make sure that you use a good moisturizer and make sure that your shampoo and conditioner also provide plenty of moisture. You’re going to need as much as you can get to fight the drying effects of straightening.
There are also natural home remedies that you can use to keep your scalp healthy. One of these is lemon juice and black tea. You can massage these ingredients onto your scalp and then shampoo and rinse. This is good not only to fight the heating effects but also for overall scalp health.
You can also minimize the damage by buying a straightener that’s made with tourmaline like the Sedu hair straightener. This is a material that helps by spreading out the heat and keeping it from being concentrated in one area. Really cheap straighteners that don’t use this material have a habit of scorching one particular area more than the rest.
It’s totally possible to straighten your hair and keep it healthy. Just make sure that you use your styling products with care and take extra measures to keep your scalp moisturized. Oh yeah, and lay off the straightener a little bit!
